'ÜBUNGEN ZUR LINIE'

ABOUT

The chapter ‚Übungen zur Linie‘ marks the beginning of Eixenberger’s practice while he was studying drawing with Thomas August Günther at the Hochschule München. Based on experimentation with small two- and three-dimensional objects, these works are characterized by their poverty in effort and material without loosing complexity. They are rather defined by a humorous precision. If to draw is to translate a feeling or an idea into a materialized gesture, in example on paper as a line or a point within a moment of intimacy guided by intuition, perception and experience, then this approach can be found in all of Eixenberger’s works that follow this chapter too, until today.
